Celtic sent several players out on loan last month as Brendan Rodgers trimmed some peripheral figures from his squad.
Republic of Ireland international Mikey Johnston was farmed out to West Bromwich Albion on deadline day and helped his new side record a 1-0 victory on his debut against Birmingham City yesterday.
On a similar basis, Marco Tilio has returned to Melbourne City and will spend the remainder of the campaign at AAMI Park.
Hoops boss Rodgers has also adopted a strategy of sending fringe men out to Scottish clubs to continue their development, which is an umbrella that Adam Montgomery and Hyeokkyu Kwon both fall under.
In the case of Montgomery, he has since had to return to Celtic for treatment after an impressive start to life at Fir Park; nevertheless, Kwon has gone on to establish himself at St Mirren under Stephen Robinson.
The South Korea Under-23 international arrived at Parkhead last summer for a fee of £1 million, though he didn’t make any senior appearances for the Bhoys before his switch to the SMiSA Stadium.
Stephen Robinson praises on-loan Celtic midfielder Kwon
St Mirren manager Robinson led his side to a commendable 3-0 away victory at Hibernian yesterday, with Celtic travelling to face the latter at Easter Road this coming Wednesday.
Kwon played for 81 minutes in Edinburgh and didn’t let the opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities pass by on the day. As per Sofascore, the 22-year-old maintained a pass success rate of 90% alongside winning three out of his six contested ground duels.

Speaking about the Hoops loanee, Robinson believes that the former Busan IPark put in his ‘best performance’ since moving to the Buddies
The Lisburn-born manager stated [The Scotsman]: “Kwon was very good. You don’t pay £1m for players and they don’t have quality. It’s about game time now for him. He has hit the ground running and I feel he’ll get better.
“That was his best performance so far, he understands what we wants and he gives us real composure on the ball. But as his fitness levels increase, I think he’ll get better.”
Rodgers will take note if Kwon continues to perform well in the Scottish Premiership, potentially making for an interesting conversation over his future when he returns for pre-season next term.
