Celtic PA announcer makes Rangers jibe as Brendan Rodgers reflects on title win

Celtic left it late but ended their Scottish Premiership campaign with a draw.

It looked as if it would end in defeat after Jonah Ayunga bagged for St Mirren but in the dying seconds, James Forrest scored for the Bhoys.

That was the 16th consecutive season Forrest had scored in and moved level with Paul McStay in the charts.

Although some Celtic stars will be disappointed with how they fared against St Mirren, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s been another successful season and one that they can celebrate for a long time.

Celtic PA trolls Rangers before trophy lift

For years, Celtic have heard their Rangers neighbours down the road suggesting that they are the most successful team in Scotland.

Not anymore though.

That wasn’t lost on the 60,000 inside Celtic Park with the PA announcer asking Brendan Rodgers how it feels to be the most successful team in the country.

Rodgers acknowledged the jibe, as did the crowd, with the Celtic boss painting a wry smile across his face and then replied: ‘This is what it’s like to be Celtic’.

As one of the most successful managers in Celtic history, he knows what’s expected and his comments were unsurprisingly music to everyone’s ears.

Celtic still have one more job to do

Scottish Premiership champions, Scottish League Cup winners. All in all, a pretty good season, right?

Well, there’s still the matter of the Scottish Cup final to come next week and a Treble-winning season is what everyone craves.

They face a struggling Aberdeen side and are the overwhelming favourites, however, we know the Bhoys will take it seriously.
