Celtic left it really late but beat Motherwell to move to within two points of league leaders Hearts.

The Hoops made a bright start and were rewarded by getting a penalty after a Motherwell player handled the ball in the area.

Kelechi Iheanacho has been brilliant this season and scored his third goal in Celtic colours from the penalty spot.

Motherwell then brought themselves level after Celtic failed to clear their lines and a low cross was turned in by Apostolos Stamatelopoulos before taking the lead from the spot-kick after Marcelo Saracchi tripped up a player in the box.

Brendan Rodgersโ€™ side were then gifted an easy equaliser after goalkeeper Calum Ward failed to clear his lines, and Benjamin Nygren fired into the top corner.

They huffed and puffed before eventually finding the winner in stoppage time as substitute Michel-Ange Balikwishaโ€™s cross was headed home by Daizen Maeda.

With that, here is how 67 Hail Hail rated the performances of each player after Celticโ€™s late win against Motherwell.

Celtic player ratings vs Motherwell

Kasper Schmeichel โ€“ 5/10

Wasnโ€™t tested too much but still conceded two goals, which will leave him feeling very frustrated.

Anthony Ralston โ€“ 5/10

Loose touch gifted possession to Motherwell in the build-up to their goal. Joined the attack plenty of times, but didnโ€™t really offer much.

Cameron Carter-Vickers โ€“ 6/10

Will be disappointed with the goals conceded, especially the first after failing to stop the cross. Not one of his best performances, but by no means the worst in the squad.

Liam Scales โ€“ 6/10

Very similar story to Cameron Carter-Vickers. Looked much better in the second half.

Marcelo Saracchi โ€“ 6/10

Gave away the penalty that led to the second goal for Motherwell. Aside from that, he had been pretty solid and one of the better performers in the side.

Reo Hatate โ€“ 5/10

Couldnโ€™t get into the game at all and was rightfully substituted following a poor display.

Callum McGregor (C) โ€“ 5/10

Looks like somebody who really needs the international break and reset. We all know his quality, but it was lacking massively again.

Luke McCowan โ€“ 5/10

Struggled to really get into the game. Set pieces were quite poor and looked leggy at times.

Sebastian Tounekti โ€“ 6/10

A couple of bright sparks here and there but nowhere near as effective as he has been in previous games.

Kelechi Iheanacho โ€“ 7/10

Stepped up with a goal from the penalty spot to continue his great start to life at Celtic. He closed down defenders, caused issues and looked a threat every time.

Daizen Maeda โ€“ 5/10

Had been really disappointing all afternoon but turned up when Celtic needed him most and headed home in stoppage time. Huge, huge, huge.

Substitutes

Arne Engels โ€“ 6/10

Buzzed around the pitch but wasnโ€™t able to get a killer pass or create anything of note.

James Forrest โ€“ 6/10

Always gives it his all and tried to create plenty of chances. A great impact sub.

Benjamin Nygren โ€“ 6/10

Made up for missing a glorious chance by finding the equaliser and making a huge impact off the bench.

Kieran Tierney โ€“ 6/10

Delivered some nice crosses when he was brought on as a sub. Looked a lot sharper than he has done in recent weeks.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha โ€“ 6/10

A massive moment in stoppage time as his cross was tucked away by Maeda to hand the Hoops a huge three points.
