Celtic’s Champions League campaign starts with a huge play-off tie against Kairat Almaty.

The Hoops are facing the lowest-ranked side left in the competition after Kairat beat Slovan Bratislava on penalties.

While Brendan Rodgers’ side have been in good form to start off the season, winning all three games, Kairat suffered a shock league defeat in the build-up.

Alistair Johnston has told his teammates to be ready from the get-go and it’s expected to be a big atmosphere at Celtic Park.

Some decisions about who will play need to be made and so, with that, here is how 67 Hail Hail think Celtic will line up against the side from Kazakhstan.

Benjamin Nygren gets the nod ahead of Arne Engels

The big decision awaiting the Celtic boss on Wednesday night is which one of Benjamin Nygren and Arne Engels will start in midfield.

Nygren has impressed Rodgers and Hoops fans in his early days at Parkhead, but Engels is equally as talented.

Engels looked back to his best against Falkirk and proved he has a role to play throughout the season.

Rodgers will favour Nygren just ahead of him, but there is every chance that one of them moves out to a wider position when the other is subbed on.

As for the rest of the XI, it does almost pick itself.

Kasper Schmeichel will hold down the fort in goal, behind a back four of Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Kieran Tierney.

Callum McGregor will captain the Bhoys in Europe again and will have Reo Hatate to the left of him and Nygren to the right.

Daizen Maeda will occupy the left wing, Adam Idah down the middle in the number nine role and James Forrest completing the team.
