Celtic star Anthony Ralston has sent a blunt message to Rangers about interfering in VAR’s business after the Premier Sports Cup win at Hampden.
Ralston was the victim of a shocking challenge as the Celtic defender was fouled by Rangers’ Thelo Aasgaard towards the end of the first half.
Aasgaard received a straight red as Ralston got a sore thigh in return, and post-match, the Celtic defender was asked his views on that challenge and the one between teammate Auston Trusty and Jack Butland.
And in reply, the Hoops stalwart sent a message to Rangers about meddling in VAR’s Celtic decisions.

Celtic hero Ralston superbly sends Thelo Aasgaard and Rangers a VAR message
The Celtic defender appeared to be in no mood to get involved in the controversy surrounding the decisions as he refused to be drawn in on Rangers players crying about the Hampden VAR.
Ralston said post match via Sky Sports, “I mean, you run the risk when you’re going in high and you’re going with the force. So the boy ran the risk, and it didn’t work out for him.
“So, it’s one that changed the game, and I felt we capitalised on it well.”
And on the incident between Celtic teammate Auston Trusty and Jack Butland, Ralston issued a defiant reply, “I’m not quite aware of the situation you’re talking about, but it’s not up to me or the Rangers boys to decide that.
“It’s up to the referee and the VAR officials that take care of that department to do their job. So I’ll leave that one out.”
Ralston reveals Martin O’Neill’s influence on Celtic win over Rangers
The return of Martin O’Neill to the Celtic dugout appears to have worked wonders on the Hoops players and their confidence.
And Ralston shares how the returning legend helped spearhead the win over Rangers, “[He brings] a lot of experience, like you say. He’s been around this fixture many times, and it was great to have his knowledge, along with the other coaching staff as well, who have also been around the fixture.
“And it helps as well that there was a good few boys within the dressing room and on the pitch that also had a lot of experience in this fixture as well.
“So we were very calm. We were focused. We know the job that we had to do, and I felt each to a man, we delivered today, which was great.”
