Portuguese media have delivered their reactions and reports after Celtic lost to Braga.
The Hoops had the chance to secure their first Europa League victory of the season, but the Portuguese outfit had other ideas.
Braga deservedly won 2-0 at Celtic Park, but they were gifted two goals on the night that were completely avoidable on Celtic’s part.
The first was the worst when Kasper Schmeichel flapped at a long-range effort from Ricardo Horta that dipped into the back of the net.
Schmeichel actually made five mistakes in the game, and Portuguese outlet Maisfutebol did not hold back in their assessment of the Dane.

Kasper Schmeichel rinsed after costly mistake vs Braga
Maisfutebol delivered their report of Celtic’s 2-0 loss to Braga and said the Schmeichel name is now ‘increasingly a nostalgic one, reminiscent of a once-great past.’
Their report read: “Winless in five league matches? Never before had they won in Scotland? For Sp. Braga, these were mere rhetorical questions in Glasgow, where they inflicted their first defeat of the season on Celtic, 2-0, earning their second Europa League victory in as many matches.
“In Scotland, the goalkeepers weighed in. And there, Hornicek showed that the future is his. And now, Schmeichel is increasingly a nostalgic nickname, reminiscent of a once-great past.
“In their quest for European glory, Catholics and archbishops tested the strength of their faith to turn around a season that had failed to win over their loyal followers.
“In the case of the Minho team, it was a return to a kind of cursed land, the Scotland of kilts and bagpipes, where they had never won. But history is written with each passing day.”
Time for Viljami Sinisalo to start against Motherwell?
Celtic fans were already slightly concerned by Schmeichel’s form this season before his blunder against Braga.
His performance was woeful on the night and Brendan Rodgers may now need to consider dropping the veteran for Viljami Sinisalo.
Sinisalo played a run of games for Celtic last season when Schmeichel was nursing a shoulder injury, and the Finnish international impressed.
He’s capable of playing for Celtic, so should he come in for the Motherwell encounter on Sunday?
