Celtic players have been reacting to the 4-1 win away to Hearts at Tynecastle on Instagram this evening.
The Bhoys were in superb form on their visit to Edinburgh with Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Tomoki Iwata netting the goals that delivered a dominant victory.
And it was Iwata who was given the shine by goalkeeper Joe Hart on social media after the match. The English goalkeeper made sure to thrust his rarely-used teammate into the limelight after netting his first goal for Celtic.
Tomoki Iwata clearly popular with Celtic teammates
Hart said: “Good win on the road, some great goals. Special shout-out to Tomoki Iwata… fully deserved 💚🍀”
Iwata responded with a series of emojis indicating his happiness with Hart’s comment. The shot-stopper is clearly impressed with the way the Japanese midfielder goes about his business.
The 26-year-old said on his own Instagram page: “Looooong wait is over. Maybe it was too long. Today is unforgettable for me💚🤍”
Greg Taylor, Matt O’Riley and Daizen Maeda were all amongst those commenting to congratulate the goalscorer. O’Riley dubbed him “my machine”, showing the reputation he has within the squad.
It comes after Brendan Rodgers singled him out for praise earlier, informing fans that the former Yokohama F.Marinos star works really hard in training. That’s the kind of effort that will catch the eye of a dressing room leader such as Hart.
Meanwhile, Luis Palma used his own page to deliver the catchphrase that Ange Postecoglou coined at Celtic: “We never stop.”
Palma wasn’t at Celtic while the former manager was here but clearly, it’s a mentality that shines through in this team months later. Long may it continue.
In other news, Brendan Rodgers enjoys quip at Hearts fans’ expense after Celtic show excellence at Tynecastle.
