Celtic winger Liel Abada caught the eye of supporters again in today’s heavy 6-2 defeat to West Ham United.

The difficult pre-season match brought up plenty of learning experiences for a young, unprepared defence, but it was in the attack that Celtic sparkled at points.

Abada was one of the top performers in that regard, showing pace, ambition and a quality final ball.

It was his cross that led to Celtic’s second goal of the afternoon from Ryan Christie.

He just looks like he has the confidence to immediately fit into things at Celtic, despite being only 19 years of age and moving countries.

The attacker can do significant damage to Midtjylland again on Wednesday night, following up on his debut goal in the first leg.

It’s obviously early days, but it’s always nice to see a new signing impress from the start. It’s a good sign that as he adapts to this team and way of playing that he’ll find consistency.

Today’s match wasn’t ideal. In fact, it was a bruising learning encounter for some of the young players on the pitch.

However, in Abada, it looks like we’ve picked a good one. Let’s get more signings into the team and kickstart our season.

These fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on Abada’s display…
