Manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team vs Kilmarnock for today’s Scottish Premiership clash at Rugby Park.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, A Johnston, Phillips, Scales, Taylor, Iwata, McGregor, O’Riley, M Johnston, Palma, Oh.

Substitutes – Bain, Kyogo, Yang, Turnbull, Nawrocki, Bernabei, Bernardo, Forrest, Ralston.

Celtic are working to restore an eight-point lead at the top of the table today after second-placed Rangers won their Saturday match at home to Dundee.

There’s just one change to the line-up that comfortably beat Hibernian 4-1 on Wednesday night with Nat Phillips coming into the team for Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The USA international was substituted off at half-time in that one and Celtic are waiting on the results of an MRI scan on his hamstring before giving him the all-clear.

Hyeongyu Oh retains his place in the team while the midfield will continue with Tomoki Iwata as the holding player.

Broadcast details

Today’s match is on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event in the UK & Ireland.

Away from these shores, Celtic TV will be carrying live coverage for global subscribers to the club’s service.

Many broadcasters around the world are also showing the game, including Paramount+ in the United States and beIN Sports in Australia. A full list of global channels can be found via LiveSoccerTV.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs Kilmarnock

It’s a slight surprise not to see Kyogo Furuhashi back in the team but Oh scored a double mid-week and it would always have been a harsh decision for the South Korean to drop to the bench.

Kyogo has played a lot of football this season so a bit of rest will hopefully freshen him up and have him ready to bang in the goals again. Capitalising on Oh’s confidence can pay off today.

Persevering with Iwata is the right call, while it’s clear that Rodgers currently prefers Nat Phillips to Nawrocki. The Celtic boss spoke glowingly about the Liverpool loanee in the build-up to this one.
