Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic team vs Legia in Warsaw tonight, for Artur Boruc’s goodbye match.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Bernabei, McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley, Forrest, Abada, Maeda.

Substitutes – Bain, Siegrist, Taylor, Jullien, Kyogo, Turnbull, McCarthy, Jota, Johnston, Ideguchi, Lawal, Juranovic.

Boruc is a bonafide legend of Legia and something of an icon at Celtic too, giving this pre-season friendly a special feeling.

For the Celtic boss and his team, it’s all about sharpening up for the start of competitive action at the end of the month.

Legia have actually started their league season in Poland, kicking off on the opening day over the weekend having been in pre-season since June.

That should mean the Bhoys get a stiff workout ahead of one final pre-season match on Saturday at home to Norwich City.

With the stadium expected to be at around 50% capacity, there should be a decent enough atmosphere too.

Broadcast details

This evening’s match is on subscription service Premier Sports.

The fixture is also being broadcast live to Celtic TV subscribers worldwide, including within the UK & Ireland.

The verdict on Celtic team vs Legia

It’s far from a full-strength starting eleven tonight with Kyogo Furuhashi, Josip Juranovic and Jota notably on the bench, but it’s still a strong team with plenty of threats and regulars.

Postecoglou will now be directly managing players’ fitness for the upcoming match against Aberdeen and has likely rotated some players in and out with that fixture in mind.

It is another big chance for Alexandro Bernabei to show what he can offer ahead of Greg Taylor, while James Forrest will be hoping to impress from the start.

An intriguing 90 minutes is ahead with most of the players on the bench likely to see minutes at some point in the proceedings.
