Celtic’s win over Hearts ticks off another fixture toward another title win.
Brendan Rodgers watched his Celtic beat Hearts comfortably in a match where the Hoops asserted their dominance to record their fourth win in a row over the capital club.
Neil Critchley had a strange reaction to the Celtic Park defeat where he claimed that Rodgers side ‘never really hurt’ the Tynecastle club.
That theory was debunked with the Celtic Park match stats which proved that not only did the Bhoys hurt Hearts three times, they also completely dominated the fixture.
Anyway, Critchley wasn’t the only person from Hearts to react badly to the defeat, as former Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon seemed particularly upset with the goal that Jota scored.
Why was Craig Gordon upset at Jota’s Celtic goal vs Hearts?
Jota scored Celtic’s second of three goals as Hearts’ top-six hopes teeter on the edge of dropping into the bottom half of the table.
And when the Portuguese winger tucked away Daizen Maeda’s header that deflected off the post, Gordon’s reaction was quite strange.
What Gordon was upset about is strange, as Jota was clearly onside before he tucked the ball away, and the fact that the match referee had to tell him to be quiet and go back to his goalline meant that the officials did too.
Craig Gordon’s dismal record vs Celtic as Hearts goalkeeper
Gordon was a tremendous servant for Celtic and will always be remembered for his part in helping the club win a Quadruple Treble.
However, after he left Parkhead in 2020 to return to Hearts, Gordon has struggled to get a win over his old side.
| Record vs Celtic | Played | Won | Drew | Lost | Conceded |
| Craig Gordon | 26 | 5 | 2 | 19 | 53 |
Yesterday’s 3-0 win was Celtic’s 12th goal scored against Hearts in just four fixtures. Maybe Gordon is just fed up with looking at the back of the net.
