Celtic’s win v Dundee United sparks strange social media post from SNP and Aberdeen South politician

Celtic found their spark once again on Martin O’Neill’s return to the Parkhead dugout against Dundee United on Saturday.

Remember, this is a Dundee United side that beat Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic less than a month ago.

Yet, whilst many Celtic fans were delighted with picking up a comfortable three points this time around, SNP politician and MP for Aberdeen South, Stephen Flynn, had a rather odd reaction to it all.

Flynn is a Dundee United supporter, yet his memory seems to be short, given what happened at Tannadice on December 17, and in his team’s favour.

Stephen Flynn’s reaction to Celtic beating Dundee United

Following the conclusion of the full-time whistle and Celtic putting four goals past Dundee United, Flynn wasn’t a happy man on social media.

That’s understandable, given that his team had just lost, but he felt that the fixture against the champions of Scotland is ‘the most pointless’ of them all.

Many Celtic supporters on social media were left baffled by Flynn’s comments because they noted Dundee United’s win only last month, and whether that was ‘pointless’ or not.

‘The most pointless fixture of the season,’ wrote Flynn. ‘Every season. For all eternity.’

How much responsibility should the players take for Nancy’s tenure, given how quickly they seem to have turned it around with Dundee win?
