A win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie is always a great result. But when it comes at the start of a new season, with a new manager and tactics and new players to boot, getting those three precious points at this early stage of the season is a huge confidence booster.
But despite the result, former Celtic striker, Chris Sutton, has said that his old club need to get active in the transfer market.
Sutton tweeted, “Great advert for the Scottish game that.
“Aberdeen were brave and got after Celtic but Celtic devastating in the final third. Yang great feet for the O Riley goal.
“Celtic need a couple of bodies in quickly imo though… Fair play to Anthony Ralston I love his commitment!”
Celtic are set to strengthen this week
Brendan Rodgers has already confirmed that a deal to bring in a replacement for Carl Starfelt is expected to get done this week.
The Celtic manager will be keen to get that one over the line after the injury scare to Cameron Carter-Vickers. But where else are we expecting Rodgers to add bodies?
The central midfield is already taken care of. Our additions of Odin Thiago Holm, Hyeukkyu Kwon and the resurgence of David Turnbull means we are effectively covered in that area of the pitch.

Have we found a replacement for Jota in Hyunjun Yang? It’s too early to draw that kind of conclusion but early indications are that he is a very handy player.
A striker must be high on Rodgers’ list. Especially after the recent injury to Hyeongyu Oh. Kyogo Furuhashi has scored two goals in two games but even the Celtic manager knows the Japanese talisman can’t carry the goalscoring can all by himself.
However Rodgers decides to play it, the next few weeks will certainly be interesting as the transfer window draws to a close.
