Chris Sutton didn’t hold back after watching Celtic’s Europa League collapse against Stuttgart at Celtic Park.

Stuttgart hammered Celtic 4-1 after the Bundesliga side outclassed and outfought a Hoops side that looked devoid of any ideas and creativity.

And the former Celtic striker didn’t hold back as he criticised the team, the fans and Hoops goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The scattergun was out for Sutton as he took to social media to fillet Celtic’s performance as the Parkhead club face a task just to save face and avoid another embarrassment.

And reacting to the defeat, Sutton took to X and said, “As flat an atmosphere on a European night as I can remember. Sad to see.

“The result no surprise. This is a bang average Celtic team outclassed by an ok Stuttgart team. Schmeichel has been a top class keeper but he’s becoming a liability and he’s not the only one…

Martin O’Neill must pick Celtic up after Europa League disaster

Martin O’Neill was fuming at the Celtic fans protest and was despondent about a Hoops performance that saw his Europa League campaign shudder to a halt.

Now the Celtic manager must pick up his team in time for the visit of Hibs on Sunday afternoon.

With the league title and Scottish Cup still to play for, O’Neill can still end the season on a high with a double, if this defeat has not damaged his players’ confidence.
