It was another drama-filled evening in Scottish football, as Celtic fans left Parkhead on Wednesday with a big smile on their faces.
After Hearts beat rivals Hibernian on Tuesday evening, it was up to Celtic and Rangers to try to put the pressure back on the Premiership leaders.
And it’s fair to say that the final few minutes of both Celtic and Rangers’ matches could prove to be pivotal at the end of the season, as Chris Sutton stuck his boot into the Gers.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s late winner helped Celtic beat Livingston, whilst Stephen Welsh scored to help ten-man Motherwell earn a point against Rangers at Fir Park.

Chris Sutton reacts to ‘mental title race’ after Celtic beat Livingston
Third-placed Celtic are now six points behind Hearts in the Premiership table, but they have a game in hand against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Sutton stated it has been a ‘mental title race in Scotland’ this season, which has been far from the norm of Celtic walking away with the title.
Either way, writing on social media, it seems as though Sutton, who was at Fir Park to watch Welsh score against Rangers, was delighted with Oxlade-Chamberlain’s winner.
“What a mental title race in Scotland,” wrote Sutton. “Celtic 1-1 with bottom team Livi going into injury time.
“Rangers 1 up at 10-man Motherwell. Oxlade-Chamberlain scores the winner on debut, and Stephen Welsh, on loan from Celtic, scores the equaliser for Motherwell… crazy.”
And then Sutton sticks the boot into Rangers after Motherwell draw…
Rangers took an early lead against Motherwell, and then the home side had a man sent off after 78 minutes, so you would have expected Danny Rohl’s men to see out the game and secure all three points.
But it seems as though Rangers’ tactics of ‘time-wasting’ have bitten them in the back, as Sutton stated that they ‘got what they deserved.’
“Without stirring after Rangers’ time-wasting tactics this evening, some may say they got what they deserved,” added Sutton.
