There is no room to hide for Wilfried Nancy at Celtic after the defeat to Dundee United.

This is beyond a nightmare for all involved, and you just wonder where Celtic go from here because the season is disintegrating before everyone’s eyes.

Nancy has lost four on the trot; the performances, mainly in the second half, are proving to be very worrying, and the supporters are starting to lose patience.

Chris Sutton was at Tannadice on Wednesday night, and he heard the anger and frustration from the Celtic support.

How many more games are you going to give Wilfried Nancy?

Chris Sutton reacts to Celtic fans’ anti-Wilfried Nancy chants

Just as Dundee United took the lead in the second half, there were chants for Martin O’Neill, and then anti-Nancy chants.

Then, in stoppage time, as Celtic were looking to salvage something from the game, and Benjamin Nygren booted his free-kick into the stands, it started again – ‘Nancy get tae f__k’

Sutton brought it up on commentary on Sky Sports Football (17/12/25), and he expressed his worry at what might now unfold over the weekend.

Celtic will host rejuvenated Aberdeen at Parkhead, and Sutton questioned whether the fans will ‘really support him’ during the game.

You can see it from a mile off. If the Hoops concede first or get into troubled waters against Jimmy Thelin’s side, then those chants of ‘Nancy get tae f__k’ will be heard loud and clear.

“Well, you can hear the away fans, you know what they think of Wilfried Nancy,” said Sutton. “The number one appointment, but losing four games on the spin.

“It certainly isn’t the start that he wanted. I think the atmosphere at the weekend against Aberdeen, it will be interesting to see how many fans in the stadium are really supporting him.

“When a full fanbase turns against a manager, that’s the end. And I don’t think we’re too far away from that.”
