Celtic now sits proudly at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a tough win over a difficult Kilmarnock side this afternoon.
Brendan Rodgers was delighted with his Hoops players and said that the supporters got to see a ‘different side’ to his Celtic team at Rugby Park.
The victory was by no means a polished performance that the Celtic support have been used to but Rodgers will take the three points that keep his team top of the league for the international break.
Reacting to the win, Celtic hero Chris Sutton hailed two Parkhead heroes for their part in the 2-0 win and said his old team were a wee bit lucky to earn the win.
Chris Sutton lauds ‘slightly fortunate’ Celtic in Kilmarnock win
Taking to social media, Sutton pinpointed Kasper Schmeichel and Nicolas Kuhn for their performances at Rugby Park.
Sutton said, “Huge win for Celtic, maybe slightly fortunate as Kilmarnock pushed them all the way. Kasper Schmeichel, tremendous today.
“Great replacement for Joe Hart. Quality finish from Nicolas Kuhn.”
Celtic fans seeing all sides of Brendan Rodgers’ team this season
This isn’t the first time Celtic have had to eke out a win in the league this season. Against Dundee at Celtic Park the Hoops had to dig deep to break down a resilient Tony Docherty team.

Against Falkirk in the League Cup, Celtic had to battle back from behind to eventually make it through to the semi-final against Aberdeen.
The Parkhead support is used to seeing their side win with flair and, sometimes, relative ease against domestic opposition.
But they will be delighted to see their heroes once again, step up when the going gets tough and prove that they are no one-trick pony when it comes to defending their title this season.
Next up for Celtic is a tricky away tie at Tynecastle where Rodgers and his team will have to battle once more to ensure their unbeaten start to the domestic season continues.
