Daizen Maeda has reacted to his bicycle kick goal in the Glasgow Derby.
Just minutes after putting Celtic in front with a poacher’s finish, Maeda pulled an outrageous attempt off, looping the ball over Jack Butland.
It truly is one of the great Glasgow Derby goals, and it will be spoken about long into the future, regardless of how the Scottish Premiership title race turns out.
So who better to reflect on it than Maeda himself.
What a huge win, how do you feel, Celtic fans? 😍😍

“It’s because of the fans. We wanted to pay them back, we wanted to work hard… everything, so that’s the reason why, I think.”
Not only did he pull off the overhead kick, but he had the audacity to flick it up for himself with his back to goal.
It’s the kind of thing you’d expect to see from prime Ronaldinho, rather than a striker known more for his out of possession work.
You felt at points in the first-half that it may not be Maeda’s day — at times, his runs weren’t seen by teammates, and he missed the big chance that he did get.
But Henrik Larsson would’ve been proud of his quickfire double in the second half. Truly the mark of a great Celtic striker.
The first goal wasn’t bad either. His quick movement and first-time finish was reminiscent of his countryman, Kyogo Furuhashi.
