Celtic fans have a lot to look forward to over the next two weeks, especially after the 5-1 hammering of Aberdeen last night.
Celtic battered The Dons as a second-string side picked by Brendan Rodgers destroyed what looked like Jimmy Thelin’s Scottish Cup final team.
Goals from Maik Nawrocki, Hyunjun Yang, Luke McCowan, Johnny Kenny and Adam Idah helped Celtic put Aberdeen to the sword at Pittodrie.
In what should have been a night of celebration, Celtic’s result was soured by Aberdeen star Papa Gueye’s daft challenge on Hoops midfielder, Reo Hatate.
And what Rodgers did after it was picked up by the Celtic TV commentary team of Gerry McCulloch and Simon Donnelly.

Brendan Rodgers had ‘such anger on his face’ over challenge on Celtic hero Reo Hatate
Celtic were 5-1 up and cruising towards the end of the game when Aberdeen midfielder Papa Gueye clattered needlessly into Reo Hatate.
And what the Celtic manager did with the match officials was picked up by the Celtic TV team.
Gerry McCulloch told Celtic TV, “Ooh, Hatate’s down is holding his knee. See, this is what concerns me.
“Hopefully, he’s just got a knock. The manager is not happy with that challenge on one of his star men.
“Papa Gueye again. He’s one that’s just been a bit rash all over the place. Took out two Celtic players there.
“Yeah. Manager is not happy at all. You don’t often see the manager with such anger on his face. He is not happy at all. That all played out right in front of the dugout. So the manager got a ringside seat to that from Gueye.
Donnelly concurred, “Just hoping, like you said, that it’s just impact rather than a twist in the knee”
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers got ‘involved’ with the match officials
Normally cool, calm and collected, Rodgers was clearly furious at the stupid challenge that could put Hatate out of the upcoming cup final.
And McCulloch spotted the Celtic boss letting the match officials have it.
McCulloch continued: “Reo is still down in some pain. The manager, having words with the referee has been told to just calm down.
“But you can understand the frustration of the manager. It’s in a nothing area of the pitch. He’s taken two Celtic players out.
“The fourth official’s getting involved and the manager is getting involved with him.”
Hopefully Hatate is ok. The Celtic midfielder was spotted sitting on the bench with a cold compress afterwards.
With ten days to go until the big Hampden date, Celtic fans will be hoping that Hatate has plenty of time to recover to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final.
