Steven Gerrard has warned his Rangers side not to be “overconfident” when they visit Celtic Park tomorrow.
Neil Lennon’s champions welcome our trophyless rivals on Saturday lunchtime, for the first derby meeting in 294 days.
That last clash, in late December, was won 2-1 by the Ibrox side at Parkhead.
And the Gers boss clearly has a little bit of a worry in his mind that his players could be overconfident going into tomorrow’s fixture.

He told STV: “We want the players to go to Celtic Park with belief and confidence but we don’t want them going there overconfident just on the back of last year.
“We know it’s going to be a tough challenge and we need to find a top-level performance if we are to have any hopes of taking the three points.”
Our players have a real point to prove
The very fact Gerrard felt he had to mention “overconfidence” in his Friday press conference suggests that it is something he’s concerned about.
Hopefully that plays right into our hands. It’s only natural to feel a little complacent if you’ve already come to Celtic Park and won on your last visit.
On the flip side, hopefully our Bhoys are raring to go with a point to prove.

They’ve had a long time to wait to get over the pain of losing that December clash. Yes, we won the league but not in the way we’d all have liked to.
We have a big point to prove. And that is what will make us such a threat on Saturday.
It was the same in last year’s first clash of the season at Ibrox. Pretty much everyone had written us off, and we did the business.
When this Celtic team are questioned, they invariably find an answer. Let’s hope it’s an emphatic one tomorrow.
