Celtic head into the international break at the top of the Premiership table.
This comes after Celtic recorded a 0-0 draw at Rangers on Sunday, with Brendan Rodgers’ side producing another abject display in the middle of the park and in front of goal.
Of course, all of this comes in the backdrop of Celtic exiting the Champions League in midweek, and the negative noise that has surrounded that.
The Hoops might think they have it bad, but it’s not as bad as the dross Russell Martin is serving up at Ibrox, both on and off the pitch.

Chris Sutton mocks Russell Martin’s comments after goalless Glasgow derby
You don’t get many goalless Glasgow derbies, but this was deserved and a pretty poor display from the Hoops, yet they came out with a point and a clean sheet.
But, after the match, Martin claimed that he was ‘disappointed’ his side didn’t clinch all three points against Celtic, and this left Chris Sutton baffled.
Speaking to Sky Sports Football, the former Celtic striker mocked Martin by telling him that ‘you actually have to have a shot on target to win a game.’
“He did say that, ‘he was disappointed he didn’t win’,” said Sutton. “You actually have to have a shot (on target) to win a game, Russell, first of all.
“What worries me about Rangers, not that I am overly worried, before every game and after every game, it’s about running, fighting and endeavour.
“I am afraid, if that’s not a given, he is in trouble. You were here last season, Neil (McCann). What did he inherit if he is suggesting this? Did he inherit fundamentally a team and squad with an attitude problem? Isn’t it alarming that he keeps coming out and saying that?!”
Celtic and Rangers stats
The only positives Celtic can take out of it are the fact that they are top of the tree, secured a clean sheet and secured a point when they were so poor.
Celtic couldn’t even muster a shot at goal in the first half, as the home side got a lot of their success from dead-ball situations.
And this is how some of the stats read out:
- Possession: Rangers (41.3%) – Celtic (58.7%)
- Shots: Rangers (4) – Celtic (5)
- Shots on target: Rangers (0) – Celtic (2)
- Touches in opposition box: Rangers (11) – Celtic (11)
- Corners: Rangers (8) – Celtic (1)
- Forward passes: Rangers (128) – Celtic (160)
- Successful final third passes: Rangers (35) – Celtic (45)
