‘Honestly’ – Alistair Johnston answers the Celtic question he gets asked ‘a lot’

Alistair Johnston has known nothing but success since joining Celtic in 2022.

The Ange Postecoglou signing was brought to the club as a replacement for the outgoing Josip Juranovic, and since then, Johnston has never really looked back at Celtic.

With a second potential treble on the line for the Celtic defender, Johnston is writing his own piece of personal history into the Parkhead books.

However, with Celtic preparing to face St Johnstone at Hampden, Johnston has shared what his Celtic teammates are saying behind closed doors about potentially winning the club’s ninth domestic treble.

Alistair Johnston shares what the Celtic dressing room is saying about a treble

For Celtic fans, it might not seem like it, but a treble doesn’t really come around too many times in a footballer’s career.

In fact, not many footballers get to win any silverware at all so you would think that the Celtic team would be buzzing about winning three in one season, right? Not so, says Johnston.

Johnston told Celtic TV, “It’s funny, I get asked this question a lot, like when do those discussions start happening.

“But honestly, the changing room doesn’t change from when you’re in August beginning of the season to now, where we are, April, the lads just showing up going to work, and you know we’re just lads at the end of the day.

“You’re not too focused on the trophies. You’re just focused on getting through the week, getting through the training, focusing on that next match and that’s been no different from week one to we are now.

“So, no there’s still no talk of that, it’s just really just focused on the massive match here against St. Johnston.

“Hopefully you can get through that, put yourself in a cup final and then that opens up the door to something else come the end of May.”

Alistair Johnston’s glittering Celtic career in numbers

As well as defending, Alistair Johnston has been chipping in with goals this season so let’s take a look at how he has done at Celtic since his 2022 move.
