That was a game to forget for Celtic.

But Brendan Rodgers walks away with a point and it maintains the team’s unbeaten start to the Premiership campaign.

Celtic’s goalless draw against Dundee United was exactly what it said on the tin, great defending from the opposition and a lack of ruthless nature in the final third from the champions.

Rodgers made a host of changes from the League Cup final win over Rangers last week because of illness in the camp and injuries.

It meant that Celtic’s fringe players were given a chance, and it’s fair to say, that some of them didn’t take their opportunity.

Luis Palma didn’t start, but he came onto the pitch after the hour mark and he probably feels he should have stayed on the bench given what he produced.

The Celtic faithful packed out Tannadice and were pretty vocal as they tried to push the team over the line.

Presenter Liam McLeod stated on BBC Radio Scotland that every time the 24-year-old took a touch, he was ‘berated’ by his supporters because he kept losing the ball, including giving away a silly free-kick on the edge of the box.

“He’s not Celtic fans’ favourite right now because every first touch from Luis Palma, he is being absolutely berated by the Celtic supporters around about us,” said Liam McLeod.

Palma hasn’t played much and you can understand him being cold, therefore, he’s lacking that bite and quality in his game.

But, at the end of the day, you have to take your chance however you are provided it and he didn’t do that against Dundee United.

WhoScored rated his performance at 6.19, with Palma making four unsuccessful touches during the game, more than any other player, despite only being on the pitch for half an hour.
