Martin O’Neill will celebrate his 200th Scottish Premiership match in charge of Celtic tonight.

Celtic face Livingston on a historic night for the 73-year-old, who is now in his third stint at the club.

The majority of those came in his first spell in charge between 2000-2005, but he has continued his excellent domestic run this campaign.

No Hoops boss has amassed more points than O’Neill this season and his record as one of the most successful managers in the club’s history is more than intact.

Martin O’Neill’s Scottish Premiership record as Celtic manager

The former Ireland boss would be celebrating 200 league games in the dugout, but where does he rank compared to some of his predecessors.

Across his 199 games, the Celtic legend has won way over half of those and only been on the losing side 20 times.

His closest challenger, if you can call it that, is Brendan Rodgers. The Northern Irishman also won more than half of his league games while in Glasgow, but his win percentage was almost 15 per cent lower than O’Neill’s.

Second to fourth were barely separated, with Lisbon Lions manager Jock Stein in third and Neil Lennon taking fourth spot.

When can Martin O’Neill reach 200 Scottish Premiership wins?

There will be no chance of the Celtic boss reaching the illustrious 200 wins this season, and maybe ever.

We don’t know who the next Celtic manager will be going into the 2026/27 season, but O’Neill still seems unlikely to be leading the Bhoys beyond May.

At the time of writing, he needs 37 more victories, which is almost an entire season’s worth.

A huge dent can be made in that before the curtain comes down in May, we just may not get to see him break it.
