Injured Celtic duo Hyeongyu Oh and Yuki Kobayashi have returned to training ahead of Sunday’s trip to Ibrox.

Brendan Rodgers‘ side are busy preparing for the first derby of the season at the home of our bitter rivals.

It’s been a tricky few weeks for the Celtic first-team squad with a dire cup exit at Kilmarnock followed up by a frustrating goalless draw at home to St. Johnstone on Saturday.

Some of our recent struggles could probably be attributed to a disastrous run of injuries ruling out the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki and Reo Hatate for weeks or longer.

Oh and Kobayashi have also been on the sidelines in recent times. The former hasn’t been seen since the pre-season win over Athletic Club with Rodgers ruling him out for up to six weeks shortly after that match.

The South Korean seems to have made a speedy recovery as he was seen clearly on the Celtic TV Lennoxtown Unfiltered footage from Wednesday’s training.

Kobayashi, meanwhile, hasn’t featured since the July friendly against Yokohama F. Marinos. The defender landed awkwardly on his ankle an hour in to that match in his homeland.

He wasn’t expected to be back in training until the international break but it seems like he has also made a quicker-than-expected return to fitness.

The big off-the-field story from the weekend — Sead Haksabanovic’s pointed Instagram post — will have been on the minds of many Celtic supporters this week.

“If they don’t see your value maybe you’re not at the right place,” Haksabanovic remarked on the social media platform on Sunday.

Who knows if he has a future at the club. He is certainly still a part of training in the lead-up to the derby, with the Unfiltered footage picking him up on a number of occasions.

For the record, there was no sign of Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers or Maik Nawrocki.
