James McFadden fires shots at Kris Boyd for his comments after Celtic beat Rangers

It was a beautiful sight to see as Kris Boyd watched Kyogo Furuhashi down Rangers once again during Celtic’s 2-1 win in the Glasgow derby on Saturday.

Only days before, Kris Boyd told the world that Celtic’s star striker ‘can’t finish’ like Hearts’ in-form forward, Lawrence Shankland after his late winner against Hibernian.

Well, that was slapped right into his face as Kyogo Furuhashi scored one of the great derby goals.

After the match, James McFadden was sure to remind his fellow pundit of his comments by sarcastically stating, when doing his analysis at full-time, that it was a ‘tremendous goal from the second-best finisher in the league’, as he told Sky Sports Football (30/12/23 at 2:40 pm).

That comment wasn’t missed by the former Rangers striker who added ‘that was a cheeky little dig there’.

Despite that, he still claimed that ‘Lawrence Shankland is a better finisher’.

Clearly still delusional, even though he was humbled and watched on from the Sky studios at Parkhead as Kyogo Furuhashi proved his worth again in these games.

“Second half, Celtic started brilliantly,” said McFadden. “Tremendous goal from the second-best finisher in the league. They then took control of the game.”

Boyd added: “Take nothing away from Celtic. Once they got ahead, they managed the game. It was a great strike by Kyogo for the second one.

“I still think Lawrence Shankland is a better finisher. That was a cheeky little dig there.”

Boyd then added later on: “Take nothing away from the strike. It’s a fantastic strike. On his bad foot. The same as Shankland the other night.”

McFadden responded: “Is that you giving players pep talks again? He must have been watching the other night thinking ‘I will show him’.”

Kyogo Furuhashi, the new Derby Day King

That’s seven goals for the Japan star in this fixture. Whether it’s at Parkhead, Ibrox, or in a cup final.

He does it on all types of occasions, scores all types of goals and steps up when the pressure is really cranked up.

That’s why many will feel Kyogo is the best since Henrik Larsson because he has been an outrageous signing for the club.

Plus, to think he is still at the peak of his powers and there is more to come just makes it even more crazy because he could hit serious goalscoring numbers in this fixture.
