On Wednesday night, Joe Hart had an eventful night at Pittodrie as Celtic maintained their position at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Hart had been enjoying a three-game clean sheet streak heading into the encounter against Aberdeen but this time conceded twice in a 3-2 thriller.
Not only that, but he also managed to find himself in a bizarre situation involving a pitch invader, as well as a brilliant cross-pitch celebration with Jota, which has captured the imagination of fans today.
On Instagram, he’s been reflecting on the win stating in one of his stories: “Together. Appreciate the travelling support; we got there in the end.”
And in another, he’s been left amused by the Celtic TV team, telling them about filming his celebration with Jota: “I didn’t think you would pick this up!”
Hart has struck up quite the rapport with Celtic fans since joining the club last summer. He’s fully bought into the ethos and magnitude of the club, recognising the size of the following at the Bhoys.
He’s also become a key player under Ange Postecoglou. That’s not just because of his goalkeeping abilities either.
His leadership attributes and personality have been heralded by multiple people at the club as a big reason for the bond developing within the squad. You even see a bit of that with the daft celebration with Jota.
Given the goalkeeping position was arguably our weakest last season, Hart has been one of the major improvements Postecoglou has brought to the club.
With just a few months now remaining of the season, I have a feeling he’s going to become even more important from this point onwards.
In other news, Ange Postecoglou provides promising update on Celtic defender Josip Juranovic.
