There looks to be a good chance Karamoko Dembele will play for Celtic on Saturday against Charlton Athletic after he was featured in the club’s latest training video.

The footage posted last night shows young Dembele looking sharp and involved yesterday at the training camp in Wales.

Others put through their paces were the Scottish contingent returning from international duty, who also have a good chance of playing tomorrow.

Dembele was one of the prominent ommissions from the 22 players who featured against Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday. Some fans had been desperate to see him in action.

However, there’s no injury apparent.

With 22 players again likely to be utilised for the Charlton test, it seems the teenager will get an opportunity to shine.

This is a huge year for the winger. In fact, his time could be now.

Ange Postecoglou’s arrival should present new, exciting opportunities for the youngster if he’s good enough.

With just a year left on his contract at Celtic, decisions are about to be made whether he has a long-term future at the club or not.

This pre-season is a hugely important period for him, and not just for fitness reasons.

Can he impress enough to play himself into contention for competitive fixtures? I’d love to see it.

It could all start tomorrow.
