Kilmarnock will offer Celtic fans one stand for our upcoming League Cup clash at Rugby Park.
The Hoops visit Ayrshire in the last 16 of the competition on Sunday, August 20. The game is a 3pm kick-off and will be shown live on Viaplay Sports.
The Celtic support only receive one end — the Chadwick Stand — of Rugby Park these days and things have been that way since 2020.
Last season, we received just shy of 4,000 tickets for our two league visits to the stadium. That’s in comparison to the nearly 9,000 tickets we received prior to 2020.
Celtic’s league allocation seems set and unlikely to change any time soon. However, there may have been some outside hope that we would receive extra tickets for a cup tie.
Celtic announced that the club had received an allocation of 3,971 for the match on Thursday afternoon. (@CelticFCTickets on Twitter)

A day earlier, Kilmarnock had released details for the fixture, announcing that season tickets wouldn’t be valid for the match. Instead, adult supporters will have to pay £25 to see the game. (Kilmarnock)
At the same stage of last season’s competition, Ross County offered us an extra stand of their stadium, citing a “low uptake” of tickets at a previous fixture.
Celtic fans packed two stands for that 2022 clash, but we’ll be confined to just one at Rugby Park this year.

It’s Kilmarnock’s decision of course. But it’s once again disappointing that Celtic fans will be locked out of the fixture while thousands of seats lie empty.
Let’s hope we fare a little better than our rivals did in Ayrshire last weekend.
