With the first Glasgow Derby of the season ending in a 3-0 win for Celtic, Kris Boyd reacted to Rangers’ performance with an extraordinary rant on Sky Sports.
Celtic now sit five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a dominant performance that saw Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi continue their impressive goalscoring streak in this fixture.
Ans as Rangers now leave Celtic Park to lick their wounds, Kris Boyd, levied some strong criticism towards his old team after watching their performance in the 3-0 defeat.
Boyd: ‘Celtic make things happen’
Every Celtic supporter knows that Boys finds it difficult to hide his emotion when it comes to Rangers but watching him lash his team’s performance at full time really was something else.
Boyd raged on Sky Sports, “You don’t get time in football. Do you think Rangers fans are sitting at home absolutely delighted watching Celtic celebrate their team’s performance there?
“It’s embarrassing. Embarrassing.
“How many of that Rangers team would get in the Celtic team? None. None. And that’s where you’re trying to get to.
“None of them would get anywhere near it. Go and show a two-minute clip of why Celtic totally dominated that game today and it was summed up within two minutes.
“James Tavernier laboured back when he lost the ball in the middle of the pitch and Kyogo ran the full length of the pitch to tackle Tom Lawrence. That’s the difference.
“Celtic make things happen, Rangers hope things happen. And this, ‘Aw we’re improving, we’re improving’, it’s about time people wisen up and realise this ain’t going anywhere fast. That was embarrassing today.”
Celtic miles ahead of Rangers
There is no denying it, Celtic are miles ahead of Rangers both on and off the park. The business model the club has allows huge investment in the team as proved by the summer transfer window.

Celtic strengthened their first-team squad with no less than seven players this summer spending big money on the likes of Arne Engels, Adam Idah and Auston Trusty.
And whilst Kasper Schmeichel was the only new summer signing to start today’s game, the strength Celtic have in-depth looks like it will keep them out of reach of their rivals for some time yet.
It’s little wonder Chris Sutton said he is worried about Rangers because you could see them losing heart as soon as Celtic started getting a foothold in the game after the opening goal.
With one game left until the international break, the pressure is all on Philippe Clement’s side as Celtic now sit clear at the top of the table.
