The Celtic squad are in a jubilant mood tonight after getting the Saturday Scottish Cup job done in comprehensive fashion at home to Greenock Morton.
Aaron Mooy, Kyogo Furuhashi and David Turnbull were all on the scoresheet in the 5-0 victory, which ensured progression to the 5th Round of the tournament.
Mooy was particularly praised by Celtic fans throughout the 90 minutes in a man of the match performance, giving him a rendition of his chant to the tune of Daddy Cool by Boney M. On Instagram tonight, that’s what he was most delighted with, sharing he “loves” the song.
Tomoki Iwata has also taken to the social media site after his debut, stating: “Thank you for all your support today!”
Joe Hart meanwhile posted a series of Instagram stories congratulating Iwata and Bosun Lawal on their debuts, saying the latter’s was “well deserved, big man!”
Kyogo Furuhashi is a happy man too posting a photo of the cake given to him by the Celtic squad for his birthday and stating: “Another game, another win. Thanks to my team for the nice birthday surprise 🍰🍀”
The Japanese striker turned 28 yesterday and marked his big weekend with another double for the Hoops, taking his tally to 20 in total for the season.
That’s as many as he got in the entirety of 2021/22 and the signs are strong he can make a big push towards the 30 mark before this term is done.
Confidence is ripping through the Celtic squad right now and unity appears to be as strong as ever heading into the crucial part of the season.
The next few months are when the trophies are won and who would bet against a clean sweep on current form? Not me, anyway.
