From Ange Postecoglou to Brendan Rodgers, it’s the same old same old for Celtic.
Both managers have dominated in Scotland, but Rodgers is heading towards doing it again after Celtic beat Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
The champions now hold a seven-point lead at the top of the Premiership table and also have a game in hand on their second-placed opponents.
Given the difficult conditions at Pittodrie, it wasn’t a plain-sailing game, nor a free-flowing match, with Greg Taylor’s magic pass finding Reo Hatate, who scored the winning goal.
Everyone has rightfully lauded and applauded what Celtic are producing and have produced from an attacking standpoint.
But 14 games in and the Bhoys have only conceded four goals – two of them to Aberdeen during the reverse fixture.
And one man leading the charge from the back is a key reason behind it all.
Neil Lennon thinks Cameron Carter-Vickers is ‘taken for granted’ at Celtic
Cameron Carter-Vickers was signed by Postecoglou from Tottenham in 2021 and the American hasn’t looked back since.
The 26-year-old has been commanding, a leader and a rock for the majority of his time at the club.
Yes, Carter-Vickers’ own goal against Club Brugge proved that he is human, but Neil Lennon wanted to point out how he is ‘taken for granted’ and is a ‘manager’s dream’, as he told Sky Sports Football (04/12/24 at 10:05 pm).
“Another one you sometimes take for granted,” said Lennon. “He is so consistent. In his absence, you feel his absence when he isn’t there.
“He is so calm. Even the way he speaks, he is just very matter of fact, gets on with the job and is a manager’s dream.
“The two dovetail really well. Vickers on the right and Trusty on the left. They are both very quick, athletic and really good defenders. He’s come up with a massive block there at a really important stage of the game. It’s a really good partnership that is developing, not just domestically, but for the European games as well.”

Carter-Vickers’ stats as Celtic beat Aberdeen
Another colossal performance from the best defender in Scotland, not just right now, but for the past few years.
If Carter-Vickers can fix his injury issues, then Celtic will prove to be even more dominant, especially given the partnership he is now building with his fellow countryman, Auston Trusty.
For the win over Aberdeen, WhoScored rated CCV’s performance at an impressive 7.25.
