Neil Lennon singled out Celtic midfielder Ismaila Soro for praise after last night’s win over Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership.
The Bhoys emerged as 2-0 victors, Celtic’s first win in 2021 after a poor January.
It wasn’t a blow-away performance by any means. However, it was functional and professional, which can’t be taken for granted at the moment.
Soro was one of the team’s best performers, tying together the Celtic display in the middle of the park.
He was voted man of the match by online supporters after winning praise from John Collins and Stephen McManus [Celtic FC].
Lennon told BBC Sportsound after the match: “He was very, very good. Real drive and reading of the game and his passing was very crisp.
“He tired a little bit toward the end, but it was a great all-round midfield performance from him.
“The midfield dovetailed well, the two strikers got the goals and kept a clean sheet, so it’s been a good night’s work.”
Ismaila Soro has made Celtic position his own
The 22-year-old has been a revelation since coming into the Celtic first-team. He’s now made that sitting midfield position his own, at a time we needed it most.
It’s pleasing that Lennon is publicly praising him. It suggests that Soro will continue as one of the first picks in his starting eleven.

Scott Brown’s form has cratered over the last 12 months. We now have a player to build around in the middle of the park, with Callum McGregor and David Turnbull providing excellent support.
In a season with little to celebrate, we can at least be thankful Soro is around and be hopeful he has a big future at Celtic Park.
