Newcastle United fans’ ridiculous claim has already been rubbished by Celtic’s ticket sales for pre-season friendly

Celtic are about to embark on the summer pre-season fixtures in a matter of a few short weeks.

Brendan Rodgers will face Cork, Newcastle United and then travel to warm weather camp as Celtic prepare for fixtures against Como, Ajax, Al-Alhi and Sporting Lisbon.

Celtic are set to bank a ‘nice fee’ for all six fixtures but, more importantly, Rodgers will get to prepare his side for the upcoming domestic and European season ahead.

But it’s the Newcastle fixture at Celtic Park that is the glamour tie as Eddie Howe comes to Paradise four years on from when he was heavily linked to the Parkhead hotseat.

And as Celtic released tickets on general sale this week, Newcastle fans have made a ridiculous claim about the uptake on the controversial Celtic match.

Newcastle fans’ ‘dire’ Celtic ticket claim instantly rubbished

Newcastle sold out their Celtic Park allocation of 7,200 tickets for the summer friendly in quick time last month.

However, fan media outlet The Mag has claimed that uptake amongst the Celtic support for the game has been ‘dire’ as they try and make a case for more tickets to be made available to the Geordie fan base.

But if those guys had done their homework and checked Celtic’s e-ticketing website they would have found that the claim is so far from the truth, it’s unreal.

As it stands, there are only eight sections of Celtic Park left where the Hoops support can obtain tickets to go and watch Rodgers take on Eddie Howe.

If Celtic supporters want to go and see their side take on Newcastle, here are the sections that are still available:

Every other section in the ground is unavailable as Celtic fans look forward to the clash despite the fury surrounding the controversial pricing of the game.
