BBC Radio Scotland’s Richard Gordon described the Celtic fan fury that was witnessed after the Hoops lost at Dundee United at Tannadice.
Celtic’s defeat to United was the result of a terrible display of football that showed a real lack of heart and desire from Martin O’Neill’s team.
The Celtic boss was asked about the fan anger at full time as the travelling support took their ire out on the Parkhead board.
O’Neill replied that this is nothing new after a defeat, but the description on the BBC and the Sky Sports pictures will beg to differ as Gordon described scenes of real ‘fury’.
Your INSTANT REACTION to that loss 😡

BBC man reveals Celtic fans giving ‘dogs abuse’ to players and board members
This season has already been fraught with Celtic fans having enough of the board’s stewardship and it seems that it has all boiled over after the defeat to Jim Goodwin’s side.
And, of course, this isn’t just about a 90-minute loss; it’s the culmination of a recruitment strategy that has left the squad looking thin during the most critical part of the season.
Richard Gordon said on BBC Radio Scotland, “What a magnificent afternoon for Dundee United their players, leaving the pitch to a rousing applause, and, of course, the song belting out in the background.
“Very different scenario for those Celtic players, most of whom have trooped off. I’ve got to say a lot of fans, there was resignation, I suppose many have left, but some of those who stayed have gathered in the area in the stand just above the tunnel.
“They were giving dogs abuse to the players, but there were also quite a few who were over at the far corner, and they were directing their anger, venting their fury, at the Celtic board of directors.
“They’re still attempting to do just that, as a line of police and stewards just holding them back, and the Celtic directors somewhat shame facedly, basically leaving that stand and making their way out through the exit, but real anger.”
Sky Sports back up BBC man’s description of Celtic fan fury
And to make matters worse, all the scenes were captured on Sky Sports as the football broadcaster transmitted the Celtic fan anger inside Tannadice.
Have a watch of this:
The Celtic board are under increasing pressure this season as the executives feel the heat for the poor lack of recruitment, lack of investment in the first team and the shambolic appointment of Wilfried Nancy.
And to think, after all that has unfolded this season, not one of them has been held to account or lost their jobs. Amazing.
