Celtic supporters were blown away by the performance of Kyogo Furuhashi today on his home debut at Paradise.
The Japanese international was instrumental in putting Dundee to the sword this afternoon, as the Bhoys ran out 6-0 winners.
He scored two goals in the first half, linking up expertly with teammates Liel Abada and Ryan Christie. Then, after the interval, he completed his hat-trick before going off to a standing ovation from the 25,000 crowd.
In truth, the striker could have had a few more throughout the afternoon.
Beyond the goals, his work rate was incredible. He was closing down defenders, taking on players and generally causing mayhem in the Dundee ranks. He had clear intent to impress every supporter inside the ground today and it’s fair to say he succeeded.
With four goals in his first two starts, he’s managed to get off to the dynamite start we needed from him.
There’s now going to be massive amounts of hype about the 26-year-old, and why not? We’ve had enough misery at Celtic over the last 18 months. A little light has come into our life here and we should cherish every minute of it.
For the first time in a long time, I am counting down the minutes to the next Celtic match to see these players in action again.
Supporters weren’t hiding their delight on social media today, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on Kyogo’s display.
