Ange Postecoglou is hopeful that the Celtic squad will be bolstered by more numbers over the next week or so, in his latest transfer update.
The club have already brought in Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada, Carl Starfelt, James McCarthy and Joe Hart to compete immediately for first-team places.
Now, the manager is expecting more in the door shortly.
As quoted by The Scotsman, he said: “We are moving things along. We still need to bring some in to help with our depth.
“We have a lot of games and are leaning on the same players.
“I am hopeful in the next week or so that we will bring in a couple more at least.”
Every time Postecoglou has put a timeframe on signings arriving at Celtic so far this summer it has been delivered, so we really can expect more deals completed by this time next week.
Another two, or more, players arriving into the squad will make a big difference to Postecoglou’s options.
Even the arrival of Hart and McCarthy gave the squad a big lift, with the manager’s other signings already starting games.
Ideally we’ll be addressing the full-back areas, where quality and depth are both lacking.
Celtic have just over three weeks to put the finishing touches to the squad for the season, so time remains of the essence despite decent work done in the market so far.
The club also need to identify contingency plans in the event Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie leave the club before the transfer deadline.
In other news, Davie Provan already liking the look of 2 Postecoglou Celtic signings.
