‘That’s how bad’: Even Kris Boyd’s comments on Hearts fans will be music to Celtic’s ears

There was a lot of talk about the small ticket allocation given to Celtic for the trip to Tynecastle on Sunday.

It’s a subject and matter that is just getting more and more ridiculous by the day, with the likes of Celtic fans suffering, as a result of it all.

But a certain Kris Boyd, whilst doing punditry work for Sky Sports, couldn’t help but jibe at those home fans inside Tynecastle after they were steamrolled by Celtic.

Within five minutes, the place was silent when Matt O’Riley’s first-time finish proved that he is just having the time of his life so far – Gustaf Lagerbielke lauded O’Riley after the match.

But after 20 minutes, when Daizen Maeda joined the party and added to Celtic’s tally, it was game over, with Brendan Rodgers all smiles as he went into the break.

Straight after the restart, Celtic went at Hearts’ throats, and won a penalty, but it was missed by Reo Hatate, with Kris Boyd claiming after the game that it was so bad for Hearts fans that the Japan star hitting the post was ‘the loudest cheer of the day’, as he told Sky Sports Football (22/10/23 at 4:40 pm).

Kris Boyd’s comments on Hearts fans

“What I will say is that was the loudest cheer of the day from Hearts fans when Hatate missed the penalty,” said Boyd. “That’s how bad it was from them.”

Celtic fans deserve more…

As per, it’s those who spend their well-earned money and travel the country to watch Celtic play that are suffering the most here.

Celtic have done nothing wrong, as the powers that be need to let the champions travel in style and in big numbers at places like Tynecastle.

At the end of the day, Hearts practically had a stadium full of their own supports, with less than 1000 Celtic fans inside.

Yet, it didn’t work or help their performance on the pitch because they were gone, done and dusted after just 20 minutes.
