Video: Ange Postecoglou reacts to Celtic win over Norwich City
Ange Postecoglou has delivered his Celtic verdict on today’s 2-0 win at home to Norwich City, sounding pleased with the progress being made by his players.
A goal from Daizen Maeda and David Turnbull in each half pushed the Bhoys towards a satisfying victory, with Reo Hatate generally considered the man of the match.
Postecoglou was asked about Hatate’s display and reckons he is seeing the benefits of a proper pre-season schedule. Celtic uploaded the interview with the manager on social media, which you can see via this link or embedded below.
As the manager notes, one of the pleasing aspects today was the general control of the match, even after a raft of substitutions in the second half.
Norwich had a couple of decent attacks, with Joe Hart making two notable saves, but Celtic never looked like losing this one from the first whistle to the last.
Celtic now have a full week of preparation at Lennoxtown before the opening Scottish Premiership match against Aberdeen next Sunday.
That promises to be a special occasion with last year’s title win celebrated and The Green Brigade creating a full stadium display.
However, most important will be the three points, and Postecoglou seems content that his players are in a good place to deliver on that.
Several players are looking sharp, particularly in the midfield and forward areas. If we can tighten up on some of the defensive play, as well as playing out from the back, we’ll be in pole position against most teams this season.
Bring on the quest for the title!
