Celtic boss Martin O’Neill has reacted after he watched his side draw 2-2 at Rangers in the crucial Ibrox Glasgow Derby.

Celtic’s draw at Rangers means that the Bhoys remain two points behind the Ibrox club and eight adrift of Hearts, with Motherwell now breathing down O’Neill’s neck.

And as the dust doesn’t even start to settle on that Glasgow Derby result, the Celtic manager has told how proud he is of his Bhoys after they battled back from two goals down to rescue a valuable point at Ibrox.

Martin O’Neill hails ‘fantastic’ Celtic’s brilliant Rangers fightback

The Celtic boss admitted that he questioned his starting XI at half-time as his team trailed 2-0 after the Bhoys put in an inept first 45 minutes.

O’Neill told BBC Radio Scotland, “I think if you’re 2-0 down at half time, then you have to question yourself. And I spend my life questioning myself to tell you the truth.

“But anyway, we pulled it around in the second half. Great effort, absolutely fantastic effort by the players.

“They’ve shown great, great spirit, I must admit, during my time here, probably long before that as well, too.

“And it was that spirit and determination that kept us going and saw us through to the end. And we had some really good chances, even before the equaliser to actually get our noses in front.”

Celtic’s crucial game in hand vs Aberdeen

Celtic fans now look to Aberdeen to get their game in hand put to bed and possibly send Rangers into third place.

The top of the Scottish Premiership table is looking very interesting as Motherwell also enter the mix.
