Celtic suffered their sixth defeat under Wilfried Nancy as Rangers left Parkhead with all three points this afternoon.

Make no mistake, this defeat was a major embarrassment for Nancy as he watched Celtic collapse against Rangers in a game where the result should have been out of sight in the first half.

Hyunjun Yang’s superb opener was cancelled out by Youssef Chermiti as he scored a nine-minute double to put the Ibrox club ahead.

Mikey Moore added a third to put the result in the Ibrox club’s favour as Celtic supporters raged at Nancy, the board and their fallen heroes as the pressure mounts on the Hoops boss.

Is Wilfried Nancy’s position untenable?

And speaking post-match, Nancy had a message to the booing Celtic support as the Frenchman struggled to look for answers to a performance that has been all too commonplace under the Celtic boss’ reign.

Wilfried Nancy tells Celtic fans ‘we have to stay together’ after Rangers defeat

The Celtic boss told BBC Radio Scotland, “Disappointing. Disappointing because I think that we deserve more today.

“But again, we I think we deserved more goals. First half was outstanding, the intensity, the pressure, the commitment to compete, to win every balls and so on.

“But only 1-0, and after that, second half, we came back. We were in control, and we considered three goals on the throwing. So that’s why difficult to accept.

“Well, this is not about myself. This is about it being disappointing for the fans, obviously, because I know the meaning of this game and but the reality is I saw so they push us in a good way.

“You know, first half, we had many chances, and the way, also that we fought so the fans saw that they were behind us. And after that, the second half, yes, when we conceded goals the first one, we wanted to push again, to push again, and after that, the three goals that we considered.

“So I can understand the disappointment, but also that I can tell them that they saw also what we are able to do. But now in terms of results, this is totally normal, that can be disappointed.

“We have to stay together, and we are really close, that many things that we can turn around. It would have been if it was not the case, I would not talk like this, but, but again, we have many, many things that we are really close.

“But again, this is not enough. We only few details and but I really believe that we’re going to be able to turn things around.”

Celtic must end the Wilfried Nancy experiment immediately

That’s it for Nancy. The Celtic board need to do the right thing and end the former Columbus Crew manager’s tenure at Parkhead.

That is now six defeats in eight games for the Hoops boss and to put that into perspective, Celtic lost just four games in total last season as they romped to the title.

Celtic also only conceded 26 goals all season but under Nancy’s tenure, the Bhoys have already allowed the opposition to score 18 goals.

It’s time for the Celtic board to make a decision on Nancy and that decision should end with a P45 being issued.
