‘Worst decision of all time’… Celtic heroes Chris Sutton and Joe Hart react to VAR call vs Braga

Chris Sutton and Joe Hart were left stunned by VAR’s decision to rule Kelechi Iheanacho’s goal for Celtic against Braga.

With the score at 1-0 early in the second-half, Iheanacho bustled his way through two Braga defenders and finished expertly to level the score for Celtic.

However, VAR inspected the moment Iheanacho knocked the ball through on goal and adjudged him to have used his arm.

Several replays suggest otherwise and the only contact noticeable on the footage comes from the Hoops forward’s head.

Hart flabbergasted by Iheanacho’s chalked off Celtic goal

Former Celtic stopper Hart was co-commentator for TNT Sports and couldn’t believe what he was watching.

He said: “VAR are checking for handball – trying to ruin everyone’s fun, but no, it comes off his head.

“No, what could they possibly be waiting for here? They must be seeing a different replay to me. What are they looking for there? What are we wasting our time for there? What?”

Sutton was also quick to react on X, with the former Parkhead hitman simply tweeting: “That’s scandalous…”

He then posted after the game which Celtic lost 2-0 to Braga on a horror night: “Regardless of possibly the worst decision of all time, did Celtic really do enough to win the game?”
