Make no bones about it, Celtic absolutely destroyed Kilmarnock at the weekend.
Brendan Rodgers’ side looked fired up and ready to put right the wrongs of Celtic’s defeat at St Johnstone as the Hoops came out the traps quickly against Derek McInnes’ side.
In 24 first-half minutes, Celtic battered Kilmarnock into submission as the Bhoys raced into a 4-0 lead to banish the ghosts of the previous week’s defeat in Perth.
But it was at Reo Hatate’s disallowed Celtic goal that BBC man and Hoops hero Pat Bonner noticed how rattled the Kilmarnock players really were at the hiding.

Celtic had Kilmarnock players ‘shouting at each other’ in Parkhead drubbing
Derek McInnes admitted that Celtic started the game ‘like a train’ and as that continued, it seems that the Kilmarnock players couldn’t handle it as they turned on each other inside Celtic Park.
Bonner said on BBC Radio Scotland, “Wow. And again, just the space opens up in the heart of that Kilmarnock defence for the Hatate to run straight through.
“The ball was laid into his path, and he was just right on the top of the goalkeeper. Nobody was able to go and deal with him.
“Kilmarnock players all kind of shouting at each other, and midfielders shouting at defenders and so on.”
Brendan Rodgers ‘frustrated’ that Celtic title party delayed vs Kilmarnock
Speaking after the match, Rodgers was delighted with Celtic’s Greg Taylor, however, the Celtic boss shared his frustrations that the performance wasn’t a title winner.
Rodgers told The Greenock Telegraph, “I’m still frustrated it’s not today, if I’m honest.
“But we can’t do anything about that now. We’ve done everything we could do today. And whenever and if it comes, we have to be ready for it.
“So we’ll see what the split brings after this weekend. We’ve obviously got the semi-finals (of the Scottish Cup against St Johnstone next weekend), so we’re arriving to that in a great place.”
