Read More"Wow"; Joe Hart left blown away by today's Celtic Park experience on Instagram
Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has never experienced a flag day like the one at Celtic Park this afternoon and has taken to Instagram to share his delighted verdict.
Hart was one of Ange Postecoglou’s starting players in a 2-0 win over Aberdeen and while the Englishman wasn’t worked too hard by the opposition, he did have to stay sharp for a couple of Dons moments.
Posting many photos from the occasion on the social media site, the goalkeeper said tonight: “Flag day… New one for me but wow it was special 🤩 great to be back at it… special place. 💚💚”
An early header from Stephen Welsh sent the Bhoys on their way to victory. Summer signing Jota then made it comfortable in the second half with a stunning top corner rocket from outside of the box.
That all came after brilliant scenes prior to kick-off, with captain Callum McGregor unveiling the champions flag and almost 60,000 supporters helping create a stunning full-stadium tifo display organised by The Green Brigade.
Ange Postecoglou stated after the game he wanted his team to be more clinical in the final third, but was generally happy with the dominant display.
Celtic now have the luxury of a full week’s training, without any midweek European action, before hitting the road to face Ross County in Dingwall next Saturday.
There won’t quite be the spectacle of today on offer in the Highlands but the three points are just as important on the quest for title number two under Ange Postecoglou.
Hart and his teammates will stay focused on that task, but it is nice to see them reflect on another special day at Celtic Park. Life is good right now and they aren’t moments we should take for granted.
