‘A real threat’… Tam McManus was left really impressed with ‘excellent’ Celtic player on Sunday

Celtic’s performance against Livingston was a strange one. On the one hand they controlled the game with the amount of possession they had but on the other, the game could have swung another way due to a lack of clinical finishing.

What was impressive was the teams’ attacking intent on Sunday because as I discussed earlier, Brendan Rodgers‘ side fashioned 31 shots on goal in a game that should have been dead and buried well before half-time.

However it was one player that left pundit, Tam McManus, really impressed and it seems that he could be hitting a bit of form at an important time of the season.

McManus said [PLZ Soccer], “I was quite impressed with Kuhn yesterday. I thought that he played well. And I’ve not seen it so far from him in particular.

“I think he’s looked poor, to be honest so far. But I thought he showed yesterday that he has got something.

“I thought first half he was excellent cutting inside and playing little balls through and he looked a real threat.”

Brendan Rodgers, at the weekend, addressed an issue that Kuhn was dealing with when he had just joined Celtic in January.

A problem with his teeth meant that the German winger had problems eating and he subsequently lost a lot of weight and strength.

That would explain why the £3m signing’s performances haven’t been up to scratch and it seems that after Sunday, Kuhn may well be returning to the player that convinced Rodgers to go and get him from Rapid Vienna.

The 24-year-old winger looks a cert to start against St Johnstone and if he puts in the same kind of performance he did against Livingston on Sunday then Celtic will reclaim the top spot in the Scottish Premiership albeit may only be for 24 hours.
