Aberdeen announce managerial team ahead of Celtic trip to Pittodrie in the Scottish Premiership

Celtic face managerless Aberdeen at Pittodrie tomorrow in their second Scottish Premiership fixture since the winter break ended.

Last weekend, a first-minute strike from Alistair Johnston was enough to give Brendan Rodgers’ men a 1-0 victory at Parkhead over Ross County.

However, the Irishman will be aware that an improved performance is needed this time around to see off the Dons, who decided earlier this week to part company with Barry Robson after a year in charge.

His assistant, Steve Agnew, has also left the building, and the search for a new manager in the North East is believed to be ongoing.

In the away corner, new Celtic signing Adam Idah could make his debut for the club after Gerry McCulloch indicated that the Republic of Ireland international would go into Rodgers’ matchday squad.

Despite the Bhoys’ opponents being on a run of five consecutive league fixtures without victory, Aberdeen are always a threat at Pittodrie and will be keen to capitalise in front of a capacity home support.

Steven McLean will referee the affair and will be supported by Graeme Stewart and Sean Carr, who will run the lines.

Steven Kirkland and David Roome will control VAR and give a second look to any contention while Alastair Grieve is on fourth official duty.

Rodgers and his side could extend their lead at the summit to eight points ahead of Rangers’ home clash against Livingston at 3 pm.

Aberdeen confirm managerial team for Celtic clash

Aberdeen have confirmed that Peter Leven and Scott Anderson will take charge tomorrow lunchtime when Celtic come to town.

Both men have been working with the Dons’ squad in training during the week and will have the chance to take on Rodgers amid the search for a new manager at Pittodrie being in motion [Aberdeen FC Official Website].

Kick-off takes place at 12.30 pm, with fans of both sides inside the United Kingdom able to watch all the action on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football [LiveSoccerTV].

Celtic will need to be at their best to claim all three points and hopefully, that will be the case come full-time as Rodgers looks to secure his seventh win on the bounce.
