Celtic’s upcoming Premiership opponents Aberdeen have today confirmed the appointment of Alan Burrows as their chief executive.

The Dons are in a difficult place at present and venture to Glasgow to take on Ange Postecoglou‘s side in their next meeting a week on Saturday.

They confirmed the boardroom appointment of high-profile Scottish football figure Burrows earlier today.

While their new employee won’t actually start in office until February 27, the appointment is sure to be a boost to Dons supporters.

Burrows is still actually in post at boyhood club Motherwell, but will depart for Pittodrie later this month.

Burrows will be a familiar name to many Celtic supporters, given his regular media appearances and presence on Twitter.

When controversy strikes at Fir Park, he is often found shedding light on events for the benefit of supporters.

Take earlier this season for example. When Celtic had a Jota goal controversially chalked off for an offside, Burrows was on Twitter explaining the camera situation at Fir Park.

He also had some stuff to say last season when Celtic fans were unhappy at our allocation for Fir Park being reduced.

Burrows is often outspoken but usually seems to have the interests of football fans at heart. It will be interesting to see how he gets on in his new gig Pittodrie.

Aberdeen visit Celtic Park next weekend and Ange Postecoglou’s side will be red-hot favourites to earn another three points in our pursuit of the Premiership title.
