Former Australian international Mark Schwarzer has predicted that Ange Postecoglou won’t depart Celtic mid-season amidst links to the Leeds United job.
Reports down south have suggested that the 57-year-old could be one of the options considered for the role at Elland Road following the sacking of Jesse Marsch.
Celtic supporters were left unsurprised by this news, given that Postecoglou has been mentioned for a number of roles down south in the last few months.

Although, at this moment in time, there doesn’t appear to be any indication that Leeds will be targeting the former Socceroos boss, there is no doubt that he is a name propping up in the boardroom at a number of English clubs.
Reports in Scotland have stated that as of Tuesday, no approach has been made for Postecoglou, and the Bhoys hierarchy are confident that he will remain at Parkhead if links come to fruition.
With the Leeds United job still up for grabs, discussions have been taking place on Sky Sports regarding who could be the man to replace Jesse Marsch.
Earlier today, former English Premier League and Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer was asked for his thoughts on the links to Ange Postcoglou.
The 50-year-old knows the Celtic boss well and, over the last 18 months, has interviewed Postecoglou about his time at Parkhead. So he is well-placed to discuss the links.
The ex-Chelsea and Middlesbrough man believes that it is unlikely that we will see Ange depart Celtic Park midseason after building up a fantastic relationship with the support.

He said [Sky Sports News]: Look, I think he would be an exceptional fit. But do I think he’s going to leave Celtic and go to Leeds United right now, at this moment in time? I don’t think so.
“Not that I have spoken to him, I’m completely speculating here. But I don’t think personally he would leave Celtic, if he were going to leave at all, at this particular moment in time.
“I think his relationship and rapport with the club and the fans is too important to him. Also, the job he is doing at Celtic is phenomenal, if anything, it’s a little bit underrated of how good a job he has been doing.
“Considering where Celtic were and how far they were behind Rangers only two seasons ago, to where they are now. Clearly, they are the best side in Scotland.
“I think if Ange is ever going to leave the club, it will be during an off-season. It will be done amicably, it will be done in the right manner because that’s how he does business.”
Mark Schwarzer’s prediction is one that the majority of Celtic supporters would agree with.

As mentioned, it has gotten to the point in Ange Postecoglou’s tenure at Celtic that we are left unsurprised by seeing him linked to other jobs, particularly down south.
Although there are plenty of attractions, and the English Premier League is likely a division Ange will be managing in one day, it doesn’t feel as though a move to Leeds midseason is when he will see him depart.
Since day one, the ex-Yokohama F Marinos boss has been the perfect match as Celtic manager, and he has built up a brilliant relationship with the Parkhead faithful.
We have to accept that he will depart one day. But, at this moment in time, it feels unlikely that will come midseason in just his second campaign in charge.
Of course, you could argue that we have been here before with managers. But, from someone who knows Ange well in Mark Schwarzer, he doesn’t think this is how it will end at Celtic Park.
It is completely understandable that footballer supporters are sometimes on edge when managers of fan favourites are linked to new clubs.
But for now, I don’t think there is anything to worry about, and neither does Mark Schwarzer.
