Celtic face a trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen in what could be a season-defining game in the Scottish Premiership this week.

Sitting four points ahead of Jimmy Thelin’s side, Celtic’s next fixture could be huge in terms of the title race being all but over before Christmas this season.

Not only are Celtic four points ahead of Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership table but Brendan Rodgers also has a game in hand.

As for Rangers and their title credentials, the Ibrox club are 11 points behind Celtic and faces a tricky trip to Kilmarnock where they can ill-afford another negative result.

But it’s the Pittidrie clash that’s on the Celtic supporters’ minds and so it should be as this won’t be an easy game if Aberdeen’s current record at their home stadium is anything to go by.

Aberdeen’s record at Pittodrie poses a serious challenge for Celtic

Aberdeen are enjoying a mini-revival under new boss, Thelin and have lost just one Scottish Premiership fixture so far.

However, with the visit of Celtic coming up, Aberdeen can feel confident of getting a positive result considering their current home form.

The Dons are unbeaten in 17 home league games at Pittodrie so far this year. The last time the second-placed club tasted defeat was in a 2-0 loss to St Johnstone back on February 28th this year.

Since then Aberdeen have seen off the likes of Rangers, Hearts and Dundee United. Confidence will be high amongst Thelin’s team but with the way Celtic are playing right now, Brendan Rodgers will also be positive of leaving Pittodrie with all three points.

Celtic’s last five visits to Pittodrie do not bode well for Aberdeen tomorrow

Celtic have a very good record against Aberdeen across all competitions in Scotland. But in the league at Pittodrie, how has the Parkhead club fared in their last five visits?

So whilst the odds and past results suggest that Celtic should beat Aberdeen at Pittodrie, the reality is that The Dons will fancy their chances against the current Scottish champions.
