The point is, Celtic are, as a club, a huge draw to many people and it appears that Aberdeen’s Scottish Cup win has led one Pittodrie legend to admit he was a Hoops fan as a kid.

Aberdeen hero Duncan Shearer ‘grew up a Celtic fan’
Duncan Shearer is regarded as a hero among the Aberdeen support after he helped them win the League Cup back in 1995.
The Hampden win was their first piece of silverware in five years and whilst Shearer still holds Aberdeen close to his heart, he has admitted that he did support Celtic when growing up as a child.
Shearer wrote in the Press & Journal, “I watched the game in a pub in Fort William with some friends.
“I grew up a Celtic fan and the place was full of Hoops supporters, but when the Dons scored their equaliser, I jumped up to roar in celebration.
“Oh aye, it’s like that now is it?” was one of the more printable responses which came my way… but what can I say?
“When you play for Aberdeen, it leaves a mark on you.”
Celtic’s season won’t be defined by Scottish Cup disappointment
When the Scottish Cup headlines die down, Celtic fans will look at the bigger picture of this season.
Winning the league 17 points ahead of Rangers, Celtic have blown away the competition over the course of a season.
The League Cup win against Rangers also set the bar early this season as the Hoops kept the Ibrox club in their shadow and took over the trophy count of both clubs combined.
Even in the Champions League Celtic have set the bar after progressing from the group phase for the first time since 2013.
Whilst the Scottish Cup defeat and loss of another treble is disappointing, fans will soon realise that this season has been a success for Celtic.
